Being Humbled

Last week, I had the opportunity to visit Seattle Children’s Hospital as well as participate in a photo session with proceeds going to SCH through Comic Book Characters for Causes at ECCC. Visiting those kids was one of the most humbling experiences of my life.

It was amazing how much courage and strength these kids showed each day. Some had been there for weeks and could still try to keep a smile on their faces. They colored and drew as if nothing was wrong. The perseverance they showed was remarkable.

I had a blast putting smiles on their faces and helping brighten their days. The happiness I felt in my heart can’t be explained adequately. Being able to talk to them and tell them that you are pulling for them to get stronger was the greatest gift. Driving away you just think to yourself, I can really never complain about anything. If these kids can go through all of that and not complain…

Please take a moment a check out Seattle Children’s Hospital. They have some of the most amazing facilities I have ever seen for children both medically and in terms of trying to make kids comfortable during their stay. And if you can spare, even a dollar donation to help keep their programs alive, click here to learn how to donate: http://www.seattlechildrens.org/ways-to-help/donate/

Procrastinating so much right now on my packing. Ugh, packing is a pain.

I’m so excited for Emerald City Comic Con this next weekend! I get to see so many friends and family from back at home. This is me at ECCC ‘12, when I premiered my Wampa cosplay.

I don’t eat seafood but my mom does and whenever her and one of my aunties wanted to cook some lobster or crab, my cousin and I would get to pick them out and race them in the kitchen before they got cooked. I also tried to run off with one once, determined to save it, though we lived miles from the ocean at the time. (I honestly have no idea what my real plan at that point was other than grab lobster and run.)

A flower for you, my lady.

Sloths are what happens when coconuts come alive

That comment makes sense
