Last week, I had the opportunity to visit Seattle Children’s Hospital as well as participate in a photo session with proceeds going to SCH through Comic Book Characters for Causes at ECCC. Visiting those kids was one of the most humbling experiences of my life.
It was amazing how much courage and strength these kids showed each day. Some had been there for weeks and could still try to keep a smile on their faces. They colored and drew as if nothing was wrong. The perseverance they showed was remarkable.
I had a blast putting smiles on their faces and helping brighten their days. The happiness I felt in my heart can’t be explained adequately. Being able to talk to them and tell them that you are pulling for them to get stronger was the greatest gift. Driving away you just think to yourself, I can really never complain about anything. If these kids can go through all of that and not complain…
Please take a moment a check out Seattle Children’s Hospital. They have some of the most amazing facilities I have ever seen for children both medically and in terms of trying to make kids comfortable during their stay. And if you can spare, even a dollar donation to help keep their programs alive, click here to learn how to donate: http://www.seattlechildrens.org/ways-to-help/donate/
